Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 has arrived !

Written on 3:36 AM by Rahul Mathur

Hello humanoids . I know am being distracted from my goal of being the most different blogger but this is a reminder or an alert for readers who don't have any idea about this update .

You all must have heard about Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 , and you all must have noted its failures , updated features and better caching but this wasn't enough as Firefox kept killing Internet Explorer with its updated betas and when Firefox's stable version did arrive , Internet Explorer 8 did lie in its own coffin .

But now it's time for Internet Explorer to bring back its lost glory and to my suprise Internet Explorer 8 beta 2 has been official released by Microsoft .

  • Lets take a look at Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 :

Accelerators

Now you can get more done, more quickly on the Web. Accelerators provide instant access to information like maps, Web search, translation, email, blogging, and more. Simply highlight a word or phrase on a page to harness the power of the Web like never before

Visual Search

Search is one of the most frequent and important things you do online. The new Internet Explorer 8 Search Box takes results to a whole new level by adding graphics and images, helping you find exactly what you're looking for, quickly and easily

Web Slices

Web Slices puts you in control of the information you care about most. Now you can subscribe to specific content within a page and monitor things like auction items, sports scores, entertainment columns, weather reports, and more. Internet Explorer 8 automatically delivers updated information directly to a Web Slice in your Favorites Bar, all without leaving the page you're on

Suggested Sites

If you love that site, try this one. That's the idea behind Internet Explorer 8's new Suggested Sites feature. At your request, Internet Explorer 8 can use your browsing history to suggest other sites you may like or find useful. It's another way that Internet Explorer 8 helps you utilize the Web to its full potential.

Improved Performance

Right from the start you'll notice that pages open and load faster than ever before. Plus with powerful new features like Accelerators and Web Slices, Internet Explorer 8 gives you the ability to get more done, more quickly.

New Tab Features

Enhanced for Internet Explorer 8, the Tab page is more useful than ever. From it you can engage a host of Web services as well as open previously closed tabs or begin an InPrivate session.

Improved Search

When searching, it's critical that you get the absolute best results possible. With Internet Explorer 8, search also includes results from your local history and suggestions from your favorite search provider. And with Quick Picks you can easily switch between search providers or Find on Page with a single click.

Tab Grouping

Tab Grouping makes it easier to stay organized while browsing multiple Web pages. Tabs are now visually related to one another, and you can save time by closing a set of related tabs as a group instead of one at a time. You also can right-click on a tab to close tab groups, ungroup a single tab, or clone a tab.

Smart Address Bar

Internet Explorer 8 helps you find where you want to go even as you type it. By using Windows Search for faster performance and a richer return of information, the Smart Address Bar offers useful suggestions from your browsing history, favorites, and feeds. Single words will be matched to simple domain names, making Web surfing fast and efficient.

Improved Zoom

With enhanced resolution and readability, Zoom allows for automatic scaling of a page's content while maintaining the site's intended layout. You can read very large or very small pages more clearly without having to scroll back and forth.

Find on Page

Searching for a keyword or phrase on a Web page is easier than ever. In Internet Explorer 8, the Find on Page search feature is built right into the browser and each instance of the search item is highlighted for a streamlined and efficient experience.

Privacy

With industry-leading security features like InPrivate, you can browse and shop confidently using Internet Explorer 8, wherever you go on the Web, knowing you have control over the protection of your personal information.

Domain Highlighting

When you visit a site, its domain is highlighted in the Address Bar. This helps alert you to Web sites that are imposters of trusted sites, thus reducing the chance of compromising your personal information.

Automatic Crash Recovery

Web site crashes are now isolated to individual tabs rather than entire browser windows, meaning when a site crashes on one tab, you don't lose the rest. And Internet Explorer 8 will automatically recover the lost tab once it has identified the problem. You can surf with peace of mind knowing that Internet Explorer 8 is the most reliable version of Internet Explorer available.

SmartScreen

With the new and improved SmartScreen® Filter, anti-phishing tools screen threats from imposter Web sites seeking to acquire personal information such as user names, passwords, billing data, and more. SmartScreen also includes new anti-malware tools to help prevent spyware, adware, and other potentially dangerous software from infiltrating your computer system and monitoring your every move.

One of the most important feature in IE 8 Beta 2 :

Compatibility View

Internet Explorer 8’s built-in Compatibility View button enables you to display websites that were designed for older browsers. Simply press the Compatibility View button if you see display problems on a website like misaligned text, images, or text boxes. It’s located next to the Refresh button on the Address Bar.

First and foremost , the main problem is that to install Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 you have to remove the previous version of Internet Explorer ., which is pretty said i must say . I havn't tested it right now so can't tell you much about it now ,  will tell  you more about this in upcoming posts  ( studies , ehm ) .

I am writing this post on my Firefox browser , and this is the biggest failure of Internet Explorer . The market has completely changed and people's view have changed immensely and now people prefer to use Firefox , Opera or even Safari but most of the people use as its the default web browser.

Lets wait and watch if Internet Explorer can regain its " lost "  old glory .

Beijing : Mission Successful ! Watch the Closing Ceremony !

Written on 11:04 PM by Rahul Mathur

Hello humanoids . I must say job well done China ! A breathtaking opening ceremony and now a marvelous closing ceremony . The ceremony started with fireworks , the Premier of China was there and so was their special guest : The IOA president . The ceremony was was pretty calm and composed . They had various formations and every dance had a meaning : it either depicted a story or had a read life influence . The most attractive part was the use of lights , brilliant !

Then came the Olympians , i.e. the athletes, etc , waving their flags proudly , they would look back when they prepared for the Beijing Olympics and when it is over they would surely be proud of themselves .

Lastly but not the least they had a song " Beijing , Beijing " , people were hanging in air , and special appearance was made by Jackie Chan who sang a song to my utter surprise :O There were few more singers who were definitely unknown to me but they did sing well actually .

And not to forget the last part of closing ceremony , the torch was handed to London as they will hold the next olympics in 2012 . The people from London were : David Beckham who came on a double decker bus ( this is how we call a bus which has another floor here in India ) , and as far as i know he even did kick a ball and i came to know the David Beckham is more famous than any other star or celeb in China , then there was Leona Lewis singing here way through, and so were the Led Zeppelin legend and the guitar lord Page were present too .

So that was a brieft summary of the Closing Ceremony , the people of Chine deserve a round of applause for whatever they have done to achieve such a successful Olympic game .

Now lets see how London prepares itself till 2012 , Good luck London !

Ah , i forgot about the main part .

Those who missed the closing ceremony and don't trust the description i wrote above can see the video below :

UPDATE : The video has been updated and for your information this is the official Youtube Closing Ceremony Video :

The Biggest Lego Model Ever : Taj Mahal !

Written on 10:39 PM by Rahul Mathur

Hello humanoids . Lego , my favorite pastime when i was a kid , its was  so much fun : Make your own skyscrapers , make your own limousines , make your own 7 star Hotel , and lots more ! I remember i did make a Sky scraper and yeah made a tank too and blew the building up , mwahah evil ? :-/

Ah so back to the topic ,you must have seen people messing around with Lego and making Huge and creatively artistic structures . But this structure is the Big daddy of them all , yes this structure is THE BIGGEST LEGO STRUCTURE EVER !

Here is how it looks :

Here is some interesting fact about the Lego Taj Mahal :
Lego have launched the biggest toy in the company's 74 year history - a 5922 piece model of the Taj Mahal. The model includes replicas of the minarets, domes and arches. Lego spokeswoman Jenny Brown said the Taj Mahal model was designed only for very experienced enthusiasts.
She added: 'It will certainly present a worthy challenge to most Lego fans - but a fun one.'
The model measures 3ft wide and 2ft tall. It has 800 more Lego bricks than the company's next biggest model - the Star Wars Millennium Falcon.
Here is another view of the jaw dropping Lego structure :

So much hard work .....how do they do that so efficiently ?Making this structure needs hard work  , concentration and definitely ability to be creative and perfect . !

In case you  did forget how Taj Mahal did looks ( You won't forget it of course , but there maybe people who are not aware of it ) .

Here is the true and original beauty of my country , India and yeah Its on of the Seven Wonders of the World :)

I still cant believe how the Lego guys and gals made it . Its on auction for  £200 so you better go and hurry before this gets out of your hands and yes the original Taj Mahal, in northern India, was built in the 17th century in memory of an emperor's wife. It took 22 years and 20,000 workers. How many would have made this ?

UPDATE Here is another masterpiece of Taj Mahal made out of Logo made by Arthur Gugick .

How to Enable " Embedding Disabled" Videos in Youtube !

Written on 2:51 AM by Rahul Mathur

Hello Humanoids . I have been very busy with studies so i apologize for such a late post . I dont have much time so i thought of doing a quick tip and trick post .

Some of the readers must be knowing this but those who don't know about this shall be pretty delighted . I found about this thing via a Youtube Comment and now i laugh when i see " embedding disabled " . Sigh , such a waste .

If you don't know how embedding disabled looks like , take a look here :

I wonder why uploaders use that option , basically they think we cant crack through and wont be able to use the embedding features ( as most of the internet users are dumb , DUH ? ) .
But now with this kiddish ( even dumb people can understand this :) way all you need to do is just follow five easy steps . Yeah seriously five easy step and that's it !

Smile a little bloggers now you can show any videos to everybody on your blog without any worries :)

Here is how you do it :

  • Go to www.youtube.com and Copy the URL  of " Embedding disabled "  video .  For example ,
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM21bbQfawY
First select this URL and now just right click this URL and select Copy.
  • Now , Go to this website called Dinitillion  and select the click here link in the first paragraph . Here is how it will appear :

  • Now just paste the url you copied in the first step and paste  it an area which looks somewhat like this:
Now after pasting the URL click on the Get Info Button

  • Now all you have to  do is it to copy the code which appears like this :

  •  Now finally , paste this in you blog and you are all done to post the embedding disabled Videos on Youtube :)
I know this looked a pretty kiddish way of explaining things but hey everybody can't grasp stuffs so quickly . So this can be like a tutorial for them !

Olympic Logos - From 1896 to 2012 !

Written on 8:25 AM by Rahul Mathur

Hello Humanoids . This can be called the month of Olympics but do you think you know every thing about Olympics ? Maybe you do , but only few of us know about the Various Logos used or promoted by nations in the Olympics .

Here is the list of logos used in Olympics from the year 1896 to the year 2012 :

Note - If i miss any logo ( due to my negligence ) , please inform me through the comment box !

Advertisement :

So that was a long list of historic logos that were a part of Olympics in various nations . These logos represent the nation hence you can notice the evolution of these logo. See the 1896 logo and see the 2012 logo of London Olympics , without a doubt every nation spends a lot of time in making some different and creative logo , afterall you dont get a chance to hold Olympics every four year.
Sheesh , i spent a lot of time working on this so your comments would be appreciated :)
